Project “Y.A.D Youth And Drugs: a Red Cross and Red Crescent approach”

27 Red Cross/Red Crescent youth representatives from Iran, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand and Uruguay participated at the training course held in the Villa Maraini in the first fifteen days of June 2015. This action has opened the project “Y.A.D Youth And Drugs: a Red Cross and Red Crescent approach” co-financed by the European Commission with the programme ERASMUS plus.
Peer-to-peer education plays a key role in prevention and problems connected with drug abuse, the project strenghtens Red Cross/Red Crescent National Societies to enter into such an action. Inn the project Villa Maraini, together with participating National Societies, want to define and disseminate clear guide-lines for a role to be covered by RC/RC youth volunteers.
In the training course participants were immersed in theory and practice, taking part in the daily life of the several services the Foundation have organized to offer drug abusers programmes tailored to individual needs and capacities. The tools developed by the Villa Maraini in 39 years of activity were shared with participants with the expectations that new tools will be developed suited together for the needs of different areas of the world.
More infos are in the Power Point Presentation of the project. In the last slide you see that ERNA has been called to help on dissemination of the results.
